Rewilding In Somerleyton: For Bloomberg

Rewilding In Somerleyton

A commission by Bloomberg on the subject of rewilding, in short letting once cultivated land get back to nature.

Here in this case it is the historic parkland of Somerleyton Estate where since 2009 Lord Hugh Somerleyton and his team have been committed to restoring equilibrium and encouraging biodiversity back on the land.

On this historic parkland ancient limes dating back from the 1790s and 300-year-old ancient oaks, free roaming Exmoor ponies, cattle, deer and the amazing Large Black pigs make for a wonderful sight. Introducing species and rewilding principles ensures the land is used in ways that help the environment and combat climate change. The Someleyton Estate is a founding member of WildEast, a charitable foundation aiming to return 250,000 hectares of land to nature and radically change attitudes across East Anglia

Fritton Lake, a which is part of Somerleyton Estate is also a beautiful location for a holiday.
